TERM  1  :  5 - 15 Jan, 2009

Day Class : Jan 5-9 ( Monday – Friday – 8 am – 1pm)
Topic: GE 101 – World Religions and Cults (Comparative Studies: Islam, World Religion, Apologetics & Cults)

a) Course Objectives.

1. Study the fundamental beliefs of major world religions in particular Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism,     Taoism and others. (10 hours)
2. Study the fundamental beliefs of some major cults (5 hours)
3. Apologetics – Study how a Christian can defend his faith when challenged by other beliefs.
    (10 hours).

b) Test
A short test will be carried out to evaluate how the student has understood the subject.

1) Christian Apologetics by Norman Geisler ( Baker)
2) Handbook of Today’s Religions by Josh McDowell & Don Stewart (Thomas Nelson Publishers)

Night Class: Jan 5,6,8,12,13,14,15 (7-10 pm) 10 (Sat, 2-6 pm)
Topic: BS 103 – Genesis and Exodus

a) Course Objectives.

1. Give the student an overview of Genesis and Exodus. (25 hours)

b) Test
A short test will be carried out to evaluate how the student has understood the subject.

c) Text books

1) Genesis by Derek Kidner ( Tyndale Old Testament Commentaries)
2) Exodus by Alan Cole ( Tyndale Old Testament Commentaries)

TERM 2 : 6 - 16 July, 2009

Day Class : Jan 6-10 ( Monday – Friday – 8 am – 1pm)
Topic: PM 101 – Pastoral Ministry I (Evangelism, Church Administration, Cell Groups, Cell Church Concepts & Shepherding)

a) Course Objectives.

Teach a student the important ministries needed to grow a thriving church.

Evangelism in a church (5 hours)
2. Church Administration ( 5 hours)
3. Cell Groups (5 hours)
4. Cell Church Concepts (5 hours)
5. Shepherding (5 hours)

b) Test
A short test will be carried out to evaluate how the student has understood the subject.

2) Shepherding the Church – Effective spiritual leadership in a changing culture – Joseph Stowell
    ( Moody Press)

Night Class : July 6,7,9,13,14,15,16 (7 – 10 pm), 11 (2-6 pm)
LD 101 – Leadership I – Understanding Basic Leadership ( 5 “S” – Self, Skills, Shepherd, Spirit Man, Spouse)

a) Course Objectives.

Train a student so that his personal, spiritual and family life is in good health. Without the 5 “S” in a healthy condition, he cannot be a Pastor.
